Syllabus (Spring '09)

For things specific to my class, check the Notes page.

Note:
All policies set forth in Dr. Sidbury's Syllabus will be strictly enforced. The following policies are in addition to those.
Required Text:
Go! with Microsoft Office 2007 Introductory +myITLab Software PIN
Note that the myITLab PIN can not be reused so if you buy the book(s) used you must purchase a NEW PIN. Currently you can purchase a PIN from the Publisher's Web site with a credit card and receive it via e-mail.
Attendance Policy:
Everybody is expected to attend every class and be on time. Excessive absence (more than 3) may result in a lower final grade. Please email me with a valid excuse before class if you are going to miss. I decide what a valid excuse is. Cell phones must be turned off during the class period. I reserve the right to answer one if it rings.
Assignments and Tests Policies:
During each class, you will be required to do the assigned lab work for the current week. All lab work must be turned in before leaving the lab. If you do not finish the lab work by the end of the class period, you have until the beginning of the next class to finish it. After that, a minimum of 5 points will be deducted per day for the late submission. You will receive zero on any uncompleted works.
Each student is required to bring a text book and a storage device to every class. The storage device will be used to save any uncompleted work, so that you can finish it on your own after class. It is your responsibility to save all data and keep it during the semester period.
You may take some pretests for this course. They will be on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Each pretest must be taken before the beginning of the lab. It is your responsibility to make sure the pretests are taken on time. The pretests are considered part of your assignment and will therefore factor into your grade. As long as you put forth your best effort on the pretests, you will get a 100%, regardless of how you actually did.
Grading Scale:
Consult Dr. Sidbury's Syllabus (A Passing grade in order to receive credit is C)
All assignments are weighted the same.
