Directions to University of Scranton Parking Pavilion

Note that the directions for getting to the entrance of the parking pavilion are different from previous years because the Monroe Ave. entrance is closed due to construction of the new student center. The new entrance is from Madison Ave.

From south of Scranton: Take I-81 North to Central Scranton Expressway (Exit 185 (formerly 53)) and follow signs to the University. (Details: Near bottom of hill, bear left at the Y, then stay in rightmost lane. Before reaching traffic light, make sharp right turn onto Madison Ave.)

Proceed along Madison for one block, at which point you will encounter a STOP sign at the intersection of Madison and Linden. (Landmark: large gray house on corner.)

As you cross the intersection, turn slightly to the left in order to remain on Madison. Continue on Madison (for less than a block) until you pass Brennan Hall, after which there is a driveway on your right. Turn onto the driveway, which leads to a doorway to Level 1 of the U of S Parking Pavilion.

From north of Scranton: Take I-81 South to US-6 West (Exit 191B) and merge onto the Scranton Expressway (US-11 South).

When you reach a traffic light, you're at the "bottom" of Mulberry Street. Continue on Mulberry Street, passing through several intersections, the last three of which are with (North) Washington, Adams, and Jefferson. At the next intersection, turn right onto Madison Avenue. The driveway leading into the U of S Parking Pavilion will be on the left within 50 yards or so. (Landmark: If you pass by Subway, you've gone past Madison Ave..)

Note that, before reaching the intersection with Jefferson Ave., you need to get into the left lane, as vehicles in the right lane must turn right onto Jefferson. Immediately before Mulberry reaches Jefferson, a third lane forms on the left. This is for turning left onto Jefferson, so don't go there.

Directions for Walking from Parking Pavilion to Harper-McGinnis wing of St. Thomas Hall

The key here is to exit from the pavilion using the door next to the elevator. (This door is also within several feet of the vehicle entrance.)

After exiting from the pavilion, turn right. Almost immediately, the Weinberg Library will be on your left. Upon passing it, you will notice St. Thomas Hall in front of you, slightly to the left. St. Thomas is shaped like the letter L. The part closest to you is the bottom-right of the L. You want to get to the (4th floor of the) top-left.

As St. Thomas has several entrances, three elevators, and four stairwells, there are many paths leading to the Computing Sciences Dept. Perhaps the simplest to describe is as follows (continuing from above):

As you pass the library, keep going in the same direction so that you pass by the "front" entrance of St. Thomas (where Linden Street meets Monroe Avenue). Then turn left and walk alongside the building (i.e., so that the horizontal part of the L is on your left) until you can go no farther (i.e., you "bump" into the vertical part of the L. There, turn right and walk alongside the building until you reach its end. Go up the steps and through the door. Immediately in front of you will be an elevator, although you will have to walk around it to find its door. Using either the elevator (or the stairwell near it), go up to the fourth floor. Upon leaving the elevator (or stairwell), walk through the double doors and turn left. You're there!
